Celine Creates Her Own Makeup Universe

In 2019, Hedi Slimane reintroduced the perfume into the Celine universe, launching the French fashion house’s first fragrance in more than 50 years. Five years later, Celine is expanding its beauty footprint by announcing a line of color cosmetics called Beauté.

This innovation was documented in the film La Collection de l’Arc de Triomphe, which showcases the winter 2024 collection. A testament to quintessential French elegance, the film announces the birth of Celine Beauté, a new vision created by Hedi Slimane.

All models wear “La Peau Nue” Rose Natural Lipstick, one of fifteen shades in the “Le Rouge Celine” lip category, available for purchase in January 2025. “Rouge Triomphe,” described as “a very classic and essential satin finish Parisian,” will be released this fall.

La Collection de l’Arc de Triomphe takes us back to the House’s heyday in the 60s, recapturing and revitalizing the Maison’s symbolic origins. The collection featured in the film takes us to historic Art Deco venues across Paris, including La Salle Pleyel and Le Musée Bourdelle, and highlights the house’s deep-rooted connection to history and the artistic and cultural views of the late modernist period in France.

The concept of Triomphe is uniquely located at the heart of Celine’s home and symbolizes its heritage. Celine was inspired for this by Vipiana in 1971; After his car broke down in Place de l’Etoile, Vipiana noticed that the surrounding fences had a distinctive decorative pattern. This pattern inspired the classic motif Celine used from then on. Celine’s iconic emblem became an important symbol for Celine after it was redesigned and renamed “Triomphe” by Hedi Slimane in 2018. This demonstrates Slimane’s modernist approach to reviving the house’s heritage.

When Slimane joined Celine, he designed the Triomphe bag, which quickly became the house’s new classic bag and embodied the essence and values of Celine. This collection and cosmetics series symbolizes a new chapter in Celine’s long history, blending tradition with modern innovation.
