Paris Fashion Week: Chanel Fall/Winter 2024-25 Fashion Show

“Deauville is where it all started for the house. 1912, the opening of the hat shop, followed quickly by the emergence of the first clothes with visionary, radical style. This is where it all started for Gabrielle Chanel. “This story is very close to my heart,” confesses Virginie Viard. “On the race track, by the sea, at the card table, in restaurants and palaces, on the Planches boardwalk; it’s all about elegance and self-staging…”

“We recreated the Deauville boardwalk for this collection,” he adds. On giant screens where tall, romantic silhouettes wander in the light from dawn to dusk. Shrouded in mystery, models walk along the beach. The 1920s and 70s intersect and intertwine.

The androgynous and cinematic Chanel Autumn-Winter 2024/25 Ready-to-Wear collection, imagined by Virginie Viard, draws its femininity from Gabrielle Chanel’s own wardrobe and its masculinity from the elegant elegance of winter holidays by the sea.

“Like the silhouette of David Bowie, the glamor of movie stars walking on the sand, Gabrielle Chanel’s close friend Anouk Aimée… this collection pays homage to these familiar figures.”
