“Peaky Blinders” Movie is Coming

With the popular series coming to an end with its 6th season, attention has turned to the Peaky Blinders movie, which will take the audience back to the world of Tommy Shelby and the Peaky Blinders children.

Since the last season of Peaky Blinders, fans have been excited for the long-awaited Peaky Blinders movie, which will probably complete the story. Although details are still quite scarce, what is known about the Peaky Blinders movie is enough to promise an exciting outcome.

The series definitely ended feeling like it had more to say, and closing out Peaky Blinders with a movie rather than a season 7 is an intriguing but understandable way to proceed. Season 6 of Peaky Blinders ended with Tommy choosing between taking revenge on his enemies or moving on with a life where the world thought he was dead. Although the ambiguity of the outcome works, the film seems to give a definitive answer to this question.

After a lot of small hints, the production start window for the Peaky Blinders movie has finally been revealed in the latest news regarding the feature film’s sequel. Creator and writer Steven Knight has been a key insider on the film so far, revealing: “The plan is to start shooting in mid-2024…” While no exact date has been set, it looks like things are starting to take the next step. With production on the horizon, the script is probably either finished or close to being finished…

Peaky Blinders Movie Confirmed

Although details are scarce, the Peaky Blinders movie has been confirmed and has been in the works for a long time. While some comments from actors like Cillian Murphy have cast doubt on the project, creator Steven Knight has been shepherding the film from the very beginning, and his production start time update is proof that the film is coming soon.

Peaky Blinders Movie Actors

There’s been little in the way of casting for the Peaky Blinders movie in terms of official announcements, but there are some obvious choices considering which characters are left standing at the end of the final season of Peaky Blinders. Although Cillian Murphy had some doubts about returning to the role of Tommy Shelby in the film, it seems that the project will not continue without him.

Other possibilities for characters

Paul Anderson – Arthur Shelby

Sam Claflin – Oswald Mosley

Amber Anderson – Diana Mitford

Ada Shelby – Sophie Rundle

Stephen Graham – Hayden Stagg

Tom Hardy – Alfie Solomons

When asked about familiar faces appearing, Knight confirmed this in an interview but said there would also be “some new faces that we hope will be pretty surprising.” One potential new face could be Tom Holland, as Knight has invited Holland to be a part of the Peaky Blinders movie.

Peaky Blinders Movie Story Details

One thing Knight revealed about the Peaky Blinders movie is that the story “is about some kind of untold story that happened in World War II that the Peakys would be involved in.” It was always thought that the beginning of World War II would be a natural end for the series, so it will be fascinating to see what creative spark sparked Knight’s desire to explore beyond that.

In terms of the complex hero, Knight always envisioned an ending for Tommy in which he would be redeemed and no longer the big bad. Season 6 of Peaky Blinders touched on Tommy’s redemption as well as his guilt for crossing the line by killing Michael. Although this was said outside the context of the Peaky Blinders movie, it seems inevitable that this path of redemption will continue for Tommy.
